The Nearbuy founding team is a seasoned team with a shared passion for the mobile Internet and years of experience working with leading retailers across the globe.
Bryan Wargo, CEO and co-founder of Nearbuy, has been focused on the promise of the mobile Internet for more than ten years. Before founding Nearbuy, he served as the general manager of Aruba’s AirWave product line focused on multi-vendor wireless management systems. Bryan came to Aruba via the AirWave Wireless acquisition, where he was Vice President of Sales & Business Development since 2002. Prior to AirWave, Bryan successfully founded 2Roam to address the proliferation of mobile Internet devices and the profound effect they have on enterprise computing. Bryan also served as senior business development manager for VeriFone's e-commerce software products and was a territory manager for Hewlett-Packard's Unix division. Bryan holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Santa Clara University.
Before co-founding Nearbuy, Mark spent the last five years at Inphi Corporation as a Systems Architect after their acquisition of Scintera’s 10G Electronic Dispersion Compensation division. Mark applied statistical signal processing techniques to high speed semiconductor projects. Previous to Inphi, Mark performed research on a position locating system using ultra-wideband technology at Aether Wire and Location. Mark was also a member of the founding team at 2Roam and was the company’s CTO. He holds a MSEE from Stanford University and a BSEE from Santa Clara University.
Nate brings over a decade of experience in engineering management, distributed computing, and network operations to Nearbuy. Before founding Nearbuy, he ran Aruba Networks' AirWave software development group, one of the longest-running agile development teams in the software industry. He joined AirWave Wireless in 2006, prior to the company’s acquisition by Aruba, and more than doubled the size of the team before guiding it through the integration into Aruba. Nate came to AirWave from the University of Wisconsin Condor Project, a world-renowned distributed computing research team, where he helped build scientific computing grids for CERN, Fermi, and Argonne National Laboratories and their collaborators. He earlier worked as a systems administrator and web developer for the University of Wisconsin Computer Sciences department and served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Namibia. Nate holds a BS in Computer Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Kevin joins Nearbuy with over fifteen years of finance and operations experience, the last ten years in executive-level positions at both private and public companies. Prior to Nearbuy, Kevin served as the Worldwide Sales Controller for Aruba Networks. He joined Aruba after it acquired his previous company, AirWave Wireless, where he was the VP of Finance. Kevin got his entrepreneurial start as co-founder and CFO of 2Roam Inc., which was sold in 2002. He started his career in public accounting, where he earned his CPA license and was an audit manager at Frank, Rimerman and Co. Kevin holds a BSC in Accounting from Santa Clara University.
